Show us your pics TITLE TASMANIA WINNER

After two short weeks of touring around our little island state, we’re back in Melbourne again. We had a great time in Tassie, soaking up the beautiful landscape, tasting all the yummy local produce, and meeting all the friendly wildlife.

Stay tuned for our posts on Tassie, which will be published in the coming weeks!

Thank you to all the legends who sent through their pics of Tassie – we think all of your photos are fantastic. It was so hard to choose only one winner so we’ve decided to award first, second and third prizes!

In third place

@dandrews will receive a limited edition Our Naked Australia Camel mug and a Jim’s Jerky stubbie holder for their image of Salamanca Markets in Hobart, complete with snow capped mountains.

We loved this photo because of its quirky representation of Tasmania – umbrellas on a rocky beach. We bet the sun was out 5 minutes later!

We’ll be getting in contact with our winners to organise their prizes shortly. In the meantime, here are our other favourite pics of Tassie…

First of all, we’d like to say a big THANK YOU to everybody who submitted their awesome road trip photos.  Choosing the top twelve was a tough job but we think we’ve got a great selection of photos here.

Secondly, because we had such a hard time selecting a winner, we have decided to give away two runner up prizes – an awesome Camel Fail coffee mug.

So, without any more ado – here are our top twelve awesome road trip adventure photos.

Laura – Who says you have to get a 4×4 to go off road?! Unsealed roads with mud and a Tassie road trip resulted in this!

Michael Connolly Road Trip

Michael – Took the family to Nambucca Heads last month. Only 650km from home but the kids were still over it. Miss 19 who never goes to sleep on a road trip was snoozing heaps! Must be getting old.  We had a great holiday and even painted our names on the famous Nambucca breakwall.

Parksy 2

Ben – ‘A place to rest your hat’.  Taken on the Lasseter Hwy in the Northern Territory!

Show Us Your Pics : Our Favourites!

We are super excited to present to you our favourite pictures that were submitted during August for Show Us Your Pics.   A massive thanks to all of you who sent in photos of your favourite place in Oz.  We’ve been to some of the places already and we hope to see the rest while we’re on the road.

All the images we received were top notch but there can only be one winner!

Show us your pics!

This image was sent in by our knight in shining armour – Will – who helped us when we were broken down at the Bungle Bungles.  He came across this wedge tail eagle scavenging for roadkill on the way to Halls Creek.

Will

A great photo by Kieran – one of the statues that stands on the corner of Bourke Street and Swanston Street in Melbourne city.  The sculpture is called “Three Businessmen Who Brought Their Own Lunch: Batman, Swanston And Hoddle” and it was commissioned in 1993 the celebrate the city’s 150th anniversary.

Kieran

Mark took this shot while he was climbing Uluru.  The path to the top was really steep and dangerous – hence the face!

Mark

This picture is Will’s second entry into our top 10. That’s him fanging it up a steep incline in his Hilux at a club event at Mount Tallarook in Victoria.

Will

Ben sent in this photo of his favourite place in Oz – North Brother Mountain at Laurieton NSW. Part of the Camden Haven region, North Brother was named by Captain Cook as he sailed past in 1770, and is known to locals as ‘Big Brother’ and as ‘Dooragan’ to the traditional owners.  This amazing place looks over where the mountain and the forest meet the sea and is a place of many great memories for Ben. A great view, with wonderful wildlife in a great part of NSW’s Mid North Coast! Truly magical!

#6 Ben Parks - North Brother

We can’t deny that this is one of our favourite places: Melbourne is where we call home!  Kieran Stone took this amazing shot as the sun was just starting to rise over the MCG.

#5 Kieran

Rob

These images was submitted by Rob, who visited The Big Merino in Goulburn NSW.

We that we should include both images, just in case it’s unclear why Rob has his hands all over the gigantic bulge.

WHO WANTS TO PLAY BALL!

Rob

This photo was submitted by Cam, a passionate fisherman who was out with his mate on Westernport Bay in Victoria.  Gorgeous colours…

Cam

An honourable mention goes to Will (again) for this great photo of his ute parked on the beach in Broome.  Stunning!

Will

And the winner is…(drum roll)…

Nathan with this awesome shot of the bar at the Mungerannie Hotel.  This outback pub is the last watering hole on the Birdsville Track before you hit the Queensland border, and the bearded fellow behind the bar is Phil, the owner of the pub. Nice work, Nathan!  Your Barmah Hat will be on its way soon!

#1 Nathan

We loved receiving your pictures so stay tuned for the next Show Us Your Pics extravaganza!
